This study brings together research from around the world on how students with cancer experience returning back to school. It finds many are eager to return and, over time, can adapt to school life. They also face real challenges: tiredness, fear of falling behind, worries about being treated differently by classmates or teachers, and difficulty catching up academically.
The authors argue schools must offer flexible learning options, emotional support, and peer- and teacher-understanding so these students can stay connected and feel part of the school community.
