This study explores how students with epilepsy experience school life. It finds that students with more severe epilepsy are more likely to be bullied and less likely to feel connected at school. Importantly, strong school engagement including feeling safe, supported, and involved, was linked to lower rates of victimisation, regardless of epilepsy severity. The findings highlight the need for schools to foster inclusive, supportive environments that protect students with medical conditions from social harm and help them stay engaged in learning.
