The WHO’s landmark 2025 report, From Loneliness to Social Connection, highlights the global health crisis of social disconnection which affects one in six people and contributes to nearly 900,000 deaths annually. The report calls for urgent, coordinated action across policy, communities, and technology to rebuild connection and belonging—especially for young people and marginalised groups. A timely read for education and health systems working to keep all students socially included.
