This report shares the experiences of young people with disability in Australian schools and highlights ongoing concerns about exclusion, bullying and lack of support. Many students reported feeling unwelcome at school, excluded from activities, or unsupported in their learning. The findings also suggest that families often feel schools and teachers are not adequately equipped to meet the needs of students with disability.
The report reinforces the importance of inclusive school environments where all students feel safe, valued and able to participate fully. It calls for stronger teacher training, better support systems, and greater commitment to inclusion so students with disability can stay connected, engaged and supported in their education.
