This Education Review article highlights findings from Monash University’s survey of 1,000 Australian teachers on essential workplace wellbeing factors. The top five components, as identified by educators, include feeling safe, supported, valued, trusted, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. The study emphasises that prioritising teacher wellbeing can help address teacher shortages and improve educational quality. The researchers suggest that schools and policymakers align their programs with these findings to support teacher retention, reduce burnout, and enhance outcomes for students.
