Welcome to our first episode of Live & Learn. In this episode we welcome and talk with Lesley Jordan, former CEO of HeartKids, and a passionate child health and wellbeing advocate. Lesley began her career as a nurse and midwife before taking on high-level executive roles across Australia’s health and social service sectors. In January 2023 she was appointed CEO at HeartKids, Australia’s only national, not-for-profit organisation supporting families affected by congenital or childhood-onset heart disease. As a mother of a child with a complex health challenge, Lesley brings lived experience and empathy to this discussion about the needs of heart kids and their families.
HeartKids is the only national not-for-profit organisation solely focused on providing support, advocacy and research funding to improve the lives of the over 80,000 children, teens and adults affected by congenital or childhood acquired heart disease, and their families. Their services and support aim to achieve their goal that every child, teenager and adult in Australia with congenital or childhood acquired heart disease has a fighting chance to live a long, healthy and fulfilling life.
