Live & Learn Ep. 21: Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia

Welcome to Live & Learn Episode 21. In this episode, Megan Gilmour speaks with Nicola Jensen and Kate Tomsett from the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia about the impact of pelvic pain and endometriosis on young people. They discuss school absences, delayed diagnoses, and the stigma around pain, and share how the PPEP Talk® program helps students understand their bodies, manage pain, and stay engaged with learning.

Pelvic Pain affects 1 in 5 girls by age 18 and can disrupt attendance, learning, and wellbeing. The Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia is a national charity improving care through education, advocacy, and access. Their PPEP Talk® program delivers engaging, age-appropriate sessions to Year 9 and 10 students to reduce stigma, support early diagnosis, and encourage help-seeking.
