A new report finds teacher attrition in Australia is lower than expected, especially for early career teachers. However, attrition remains high in remote areas, the Northern Territory, and special education. Most teachers who leave earn less, suggesting money isn’t the main reason. The bigger issue is a drop in students enrolling in and completing teaching degrees, limiting future supply.
