The Attendance Playbook from FutureEd and Attendance Works offers practical, research-based strategies to help schools improve student attendance. It presents a tiered approach—universal supports, targeted interventions, and intensive help for chronic absence. Suggestions range from simple actions like greeting students and texting families, to providing mentoring, mental health services, and case management. The focus is on removing barriers and building a positive school culture that encourages students to show up and stay engaged.

We note that the strategies aren’t specific to students witih complex medical/mental conditions and that telepresence technology isn’t mentioned.
